Conference Centre 37
Friday, April 30th, 2010When selecting a conference centre for your organisation consider how it will impact on your brand. Will the people be impressed? Some conferences the traditional venue of corporate office space is fine but if you are trying to really impress think of the impact the venue will have.
What is the impression on the people as well as your brand. If you are trying to convey importance, change, growth etc then consider how your conference centre reflects this. What about Style? Don’t hold a conference about quality at a cheap venue. Then use a conference centre that reflects this sentiment.
From the second the visitors get there, what is their first impression? Style, growth, partnership? This will set the conference tone. Does the work that happens at your conference need to be influenced by the environs Does the conference require gardens for instance for breaks? How are you balancing these? The ambient sounds at a venue will have an influence. The sound of heels on parquetry conveys different feelings to say a carpeted floor.
Scents & sounds are always emotive. We associate them with our own experiences. Does the entrace to the conference need to be impressive? Does it inspire creativity? What about the food quality at the venue? Is it sensational? If the conference is about cutbacks you probably don’t want to convey extravagance. Does the centre reflect these things?
