The Best Romantic Comedies Ever

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Romantic comedy films (sometimes referred to as “rom coms” or “romcoms”) have sunny, funny plotlines, concentrated on loving ideals such as true love being able to overcome most obstructions. Romcom movies are a sub-genre of comedy movies as well as of romance movies and frequently have elements of screwball comedies and stoner comedies. Some tv programs are also considered romantic comedies.

The standard plotline of a romantic comedy is that two main characters, usually a man and a woman, meet, part ways because of a controversy or some other obstacle, then in the end reunite. Sometimes the two characters meet and grow involved initially, then must face challenges to their togetherness. Sometimes the two characters are hesitant to become romantically involved because they believe that they dislike one another, because one of them already has a partner, or because of social forces. Still, the writers provide clues which suggest that the main characters are, in fact, drawn to one another and that they would be a good love match. The characters frequently separate or seek time apart to figure out their real feelings or handle the outside obstructions to their being together.

The culmination of a romantic comedy is as predictable as the other facets of the genre. While the two main characters are apart, one or both of them get that they’re destined to be together. One or both make a grand motion to display how much they’re in love, and the two main characters wind up together.

The story to the romantic comedy genre is as old as Shakespeare. As You Like It, The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream can all be thought of as early romantic comedies. The story can vary in its specifics and presentation though.

A new (and really representative version) of the conventional romantic comedy is the R-rated, stoner, romantic comedy. These movies target men and women, providing bawdy wit for the guys and romanticism for the gals. Examples include Knocked Up and American Pie 2.

Here’s a list of what we think are the five best romantic comedies ever. Enjoy:

  1. Manhattan
  2. 10 Things I Hate About You
  3. Pillow Talk
  4. Moonstruck
  5. What Women Want

Plasma TVs are the latest in entertainment advancement. They offer a lot more than standard television sets. But there is also a lot more training that is necessary for plasma TV installation. It’s not that plain either.

Plasma TVs are flat. They can be mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. This produces a better visual experience rather thaner than putting it on a TV stand or entertainment center. You are able to make the most of the flatness of the TV only when it is installed on the wall or ceiling. This way you can really show off your television.

So how do you acheive the best plasma TV installation? The best and easiest way would be to get someone to do it for you. But this would cost more compared to doing it yourself. It’s not that big of a problem if you know what you are doing and obtain good help in the form of friends or family.

So what are the components essential for plasma wall installation? Well, you will need a couple of things.

First, the right tools are very valuable. You will need the following: A hammer, a good set of screw drivers, a set of nails and screws, and a spirit level. You would also need a step ladder if you are installing it at a height.

Then the other supplementary equipment is also important. You would need a reasonable length of wire to connect your plasma TV to the electric plug points. In most cases these cables come with the TV, but be sure you have the right cables before starting. You would need a wall mount or ceiling mount. This is the most expensive component. Then you would also need wire clips or zip-ties to secure the wires together and make it look neat and presentable. And then based on your situation you would need other stuff like plaster, or wallpaper etc. Once you have decided where you are going to install your plasma TV, you can go about sourcing your equipment.

So now you know that installing your TV is not confusing; it is a process that can be made painless by having a few necessary pieces on.
