Romantic comedy films (sometimes referred to as “rom coms” or “romcoms”) have sunny, funny plotlines, concentrated on loving ideals such as true love being able to overcome most obstructions. The story to the romantic comedy genre is as old as Shakespeare. As You Like It, The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream can all be thought of as early romantic comedies. The story can vary in its specifics and presentation though.
