A Great Lunch
Saturday, November 12th, 2011Whenever I’m cooking, I prefer to get people round to sample my efforts.
There’s little greater than preparing lunch and devouring it with mates. The part I like particularly is the cheese board. Plus it’s even the simplest part! When everything is ready, I plate it up on my old dining room table.
You’re still able to buy them: they’re a designer marvel. Get them at the-dining-room.net.
The dinner table in the dining-room has belonged to me for a long time.
One of the legs is rickety, and whilst it used to fold out to fit nine folk, these days you cannot do this because it might topple over.
Nonetheless I enjoy keeping it about the abode, we’ve had a great deal of laughs with one another. I’ve had many many long, tiresome discussions til 2am whilst sat at that dinner table.
It ought to have learned loads. In fact, if it’s been paying attention, it’ll have become an expert in economics and art over the years: as well as utter rubbish.
The chair isn’t to be used by anyone else. It is mine, and it’s been in my flat for a long time. It appears a little careworn now, in truth, but I think that it retains a certain dignity. As soon as I get home from work I love to assemble a mug of tea and a selection of oatcakes and sit in my chair, enjoying the radio. Normally I will fall asleep for ten mins, and if I have that short doze, I am in good fettle until bed time.
As a youngster, I’d toil 8 hrs each day and stay on the ball and active. However nowadays I need to go back to my chair for a nap to retain my energy.
